Libraries serve as a powerful gateway to information and scholarship. Information sharing needs to be accessible to all patrons, including users with disabilities. Attendees will learn about legal and moral obligations related to accessibility, barriers that impact accessing information, best practices for accessibility in regards to library services, digital scholarship considerations, and how organizations can proactively ensure equal access to information. This presentation will largely focus on access to electronic information.

Presenter: Nazely Kurkjian, Coordinator of Disability, Diversity, and Nontraditional Student Services, The State University of New York.

Note: If you anticipate a need for disability-related accommodations or auxiliary aids to participate, please contact Carolyn Bennett Glauda at  We ask that you provide us with at least 3-5 days of advance notice regarding your equal access needs.
