Conservation and Preservation Grant Writing Workshop

Barbara Lilley of the New York State Library’s Division of Library Development details the Conservation/ Preservation Discretionary Grant Program, which provides up to $45,000 for one-year projects that contribute to the preservation of significant research materials in libraries, archives, historical societies, and other agencies within the State of New York. The session is intended to aid prospective applicants in preparing for 2026/2027 applications. The purpose of the New York State Discretionary Grant Program is to encourage the proper care and accessibility of research materials in the State, to promote the use and development of guidelines and standards for conservation/ preservation practices, and to support the growth of local and cooperative preservation programs.
